How to run an application window

6 min read

Application windows let you collect and review tenant applications before committing to a tenancy.

Step 1: Open Applications

Go to Applications from the sidebar. You will see any active and past application windows.

Step 2: Create an application window

Click New application window and select the property (and room, if HMO). Set the window open and close dates, and optionally add a description for applicants.

Step 3: Share the application link

Proper Agent generates a unique link for the application window. Share this with prospective tenants via email, your website, or property portals.

Step 4: Review applications

As applications come in, they appear in the application window. Review each applicant's details, employment, and references.

Step 5: Run referencing

For applicants you want to proceed with, start a referencing check from the application. Proper Agent tracks the status of each check and notifies you when results are ready.

Step 6: Accept an applicant

Once referencing passes, accept the applicant. You can then move straight to creating a tenancy agreement for that property.

Tips

  • Set a clear close date so applicants know the deadline.
  • You can have one active application window per property at a time.
  • Declined applications are kept on record for your reference.
